In the Team Handyapps version of Teen Do Paanch, your round score is tricks won minus your target. The player who picks trump has a target of 5 tricks, the next player has 3, and the dealer has 2. These targets add up to the 10 tricks in a round.
A trick is one set of three cards, one from each player. The winner takes that trick. Points are different: they measure how far above or below your target you finished.
| Player | Target | Tricks won | Points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trump picker | 5 | 7 | +2 |
| Next player | 3 | 2 | -1 |
| Dealer | 2 | 1 | -1 |
The tricks add up to 10 and the points add up to 0. That is a useful check when keeping score: every extra trick above one player's target is a trick another player missed.
The dealer rotates after each round, so the same person does not keep the same target. Keep a total for each person, not each seat or target.
| Player | Previous total | New target | Tricks | Round points | New total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | +2 | 2 | 5 | +3 | 5 |
| B | -1 | 5 | 3 | -2 | -3 |
| C | -1 | 3 | 2 | -1 | -2 |
Player A reaches 5 points and wins this example match. In our browser game the winning target is 5 points. The Android app defaults to 5 and lets you choose a different target. If you play with physical cards, agree on your match target before starting.
No. The round points come from tricks won minus target. In the app, a player who beat their target pulls cards from a player who fell short at the start of the next round, then returns cards. That changes the next hand, not the points already recorded. Pull and steal is app-only in our game; the browser version skips it. Read the full pull-and-steal rules.
Yes. Falling short subtracts points, and the match total can go below zero. You do not reset it to zero between rounds.
No. If your target is five, five tricks give zero points. If your target is two, five tricks give three points.
